Spa treatments for your taste buds
by Laurel |  Aug 16, 2012

There's nothing I love more than a day at a Bliss spa, with treatments that tickle literally all of my senses - there's nothing like the smell of those essential oils during a ginger massage or that invigorating feeling of an exfoliating facial. Even your taste buds get attention at a Bliss spa, with that delicious flavored water. While I'll keep going back to the spa to get those 'ahhh'mazing facials and body treatments, I found out I can enjoy this tasty spa drink anytime!

Adding lemon to water is fine and dandy, but you might already do this at home. Why not add some mint to your lemon water pitcher? Letting it sit for a few hours will infuse the delicious, refreshing flavor. Mixing citrus like limes and oranges can also add an unexpected burst of flavor.

Frozen fruit is also your friend when it comes to flavoring water. Cut up some cubes of watermelon and freeze them, then use them as ice cubes in a glass of water. Mmm, cool and refreshing! You can achieve the same effect with frozen fruits like strawberries and blueberries.

But you don't have to stick to fruit when it comes to water. Cucumber water is a spa classic, and there is something about this flavor that is oh so refreshing. Slice it up but don't let this water sit in the fridge too long - the cucumbers can get soft (read: much less refreshing).

Even just adding herbs alone can kick your water up a notch. Love basil? Go for it! Basil and lemons would be delicious, as would lime and mint. A little fresh-sliced ginger also works as a tummy soother when you're not feeling so hot.

What's your favorite water flavor at your local Bliss spa? Which flavor combos would you try at home?
