don’t miss the official ‘skin’-auguration
What if our nation’s Capital tried balancing complexions instead of the budget? If the hot topic was waxes, not taxes? If we were able to achieve true bi-‘pore’-tisanship?
It’s all a reality at the new Bliss Spa at the W Washington D.C. Expect 3000 square feet of tension-fighting facilities featuring a retail beauty boutique, a luxe nail lounge with two manicure and two pedicure stations, four treatment rooms, and men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges. Trademark Bliss touches—like a cleverly compiled menu of super effective services, rhythm and blues tunes, and legendary brownie buffet—set a fun, upbeat tone to top off the space.
Now it’s easier than ever for D.C. dwellers to exercise their First ‘Aah’-mendment right: the freedom of ‘spa’, of course.

 | | Can you please tell me which facial would be appropriate for someone suffering with rosacea? |
 | I would suggest a Bliss the bliss basic facial?, geared toward sensitive skin, without any microdermabrasion or harsh exfoliants, and with an end-off of oxygen. Although your skin is probably very sensitive, it still needs a good exfoliating (as long as the pH is relatively neutral), some deep pore cleaning (blackheads look good on no one, rosacea or no rosacea), and oxygenating (to stimulate healthy cell metabolism). I would avoid chemical peels, enzyme peels, paraffin, deep heating treatments, or anything that you can't spell. (If you know what we mean.) If you mention to your esthetician that you are concerned about rosacea, I'm sure he/she will take the appropriate steps to avoid irritation while improving your skin condition! |
 | | I've got pretty nice (I'd call it normal) skin almost everywhere, but my nose builds up a radical stash of blackheads. What would you recommend? |
 | Women of all ages have the same 'pore-clogging' problem, which is precisely why our chemists created the Bliss middleweight starter set lineup. It has enzymes to dissolve dead cells and excess oils (in areas where they 'build up') and smooth the surface (without making you red or raw), vitamin C and grapeseed extracts (as anti-aging antioxidants), hyaluronic acid (for hydration) and energizing oligamines. In four steps, you'll get amazing 'face'. Best of all, it won't strain your bank balance. |
