For our blog's inaugural entry, we asked our spa experts which questions their clients feel awkward about asking, even behind closed treatment room doors. (We thought you'd like to know that you're not the only one who sometimes gets nervous bringing things up during your service.)
Come to find out, the #1 question that makes clients turn redder than their toenail polish is:
"Should I keep my underwear on or off during treatments?"
All of our experts agree that you should do what makes you feel most comfortable—because if anything (other than your muscles) is tense, being at Bliss doesn't make sense.
However, there are certain factors you should consider before making the big 'wear or bare' decision—so read on to find out what our pros had to say.
"I encourage clients to always, always ask if they are unsure. The reason is that by asking, you clue your massage therapist in to the reality that maybe, just maybe, you're a little uncomfortable about taking your underwear off. If you decide to take them off you will still be covered and draped with a sheet, so only small parts of you will be exposed at any time."

Daniella, Massage Therapist, Bliss Soho "If you would like gluteus maximus work, I recommend leaving them off. It's not just atheletes that benefit from a glute massage, we all do—especially if your job requires you to stand or sit eight hours a day." -
Catherine, Massage Therapist, Bliss Soho Read more from our experts >Customer Comments: "I had the pleasure of having the Seaweed detox wrap at the Dallas location. I completely disrobed and it was very comfortable, the massage therapist Kat was very professional and made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. When you are receiving your treatment you forget that you are naked."

Yvette"Every massage therapist I have ever experienced treats the body much as a physician would. They are well-educated about the body and know how best to treat the person in the way best for them. And, just as a doctor, they are only interested in making you feel better—not how you look. They take great care to preserve every person's modesty and dignity--the goal is to relax, not create stress. So, feel free to take it all off and let them work their magic!"-
Debbie"I used to do massage for a living and it was much easier with them off. Some people think it's weird to bare all, but we are taught draping techniques so we don't "see things" we shouldn't see. Also, remember that a masseuse sees almost naked bodies all the time - it really, really is no big deal."-
