Kevyn Aucoin was the first to declare that makeup was simply a tool to help a woman discover herself. A-list celebs soon figured out that in the hands of this wiz, those tools could do just about anything. For years, Kevyn worked to develop formulas and product specifics for his namesake cosmetics line, which launched in September 2001. The following month, he was diagnosed with a rare pituitary tumor. Though the genius is gone, his creation survives-beautifully.
