The first exploratory research on kids' skin aged 7 to 12 years old
Kids' skin is very different from adults'. Its lipidic index (the lower, the drier the skin) is at least 10 times lower than adults' skin. The hydration rate is 28% lower than adults', and the hygroscopicity (the higher, the more the skin loses its hydration) is 87% higher than adults'. For the first time, we have measured that kids' skin is on average very dry, very dehydrated, and that the barrier function is altered because kids' skin easily loses its hydration.
