Pomega5 founder Tzeira first learned of
pomegranate seed oil from a patient at her wellness clinic, and had to share its age-defying abilities with the world. She worked with scientists to harness the power of pomegranate-seed-sourced 'mega' antioxidant Omega 5, and used her know-how as a nutritionist and culinary connoisseur to prepare each all-natural, botanically based formula as she would a recipe—and your skin will simply eat it up. So get out your 'pom-poms' and cheer for Pomega5!
Pomega5 Healing Cream
Like comfort food for dry, damaged and problematic complexions, this mild-mannered yet mega-reparative moisturizer is the top 'seed' in the Pomega5 lineup. Formulated by the brand's founder to comfort her own sensitive skin, it combines the power of the brand's signature pomegranate-seed-oil-packed power antioxidant, Omega 5 with soothing, restorative oils of carrot seed, calendula and jojoba to resist impurities and reduce redness.
The key ingredient across all Pomega5 products is Omega 5. A unique essential fatty acid obtained from the seed of the pomegranate, Omega 5 is the only known botanical form of Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLnA), also known as Punicic Acid, and one of the most potent antioxidants known to modern science. While chemically similar to Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), the Omega 5 molecule is extremely unique in that it has three double bonds instead of two.
Why is omega 5 beneficial?
Its conjugated molecular structure makes it a unique natural ingredient that is highly compatible with and easily absorbed by skin. It channels vital nutrients such as B1, B2, C, potassium, and magnesium directly to theskin cells, while overriding the inflammatory response of skin damaging influences and disorders. It also supports immune, hormonal, circulatory, and metabolic health. Data from studies published on pomegranate seed oil suggests that it stimulates keratinocyte production, therefore improving epidermis skin cell production and turnover – critical to improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving areas of hyperpigmentation and improving overall skin health.
How is the formulation unique?
In addition to pomegranate seed oil, Pomega5 draws upon the antioxidant, healing, and nourishing properties of over 50 other bioactives. The brand conveys its appreciation for the natural world through the deliberate sourcing of pure and nourishing botanical ingredients. Just like the food groups in a healthy, balanced recipe, each product contains a powerful balance of basic elements descending from five families: Essential Fatty Acids, Botanical Extracts, Essential Oils, Hydrosols & Distillates, and Minerals, Micronutrients & Colloidals. Extracted from leaves, twigs, petals, and seeds - carefully selected for compatibility with skin, as well as with each other - the ingredients from this world are brought to life, transferring their unique, healing energies through Pomega5.
Essential fatty acids: the highlight
As the active ingredients that repair, revitalize and regenerate skin cells, essential fatty acids are the highlight of the Pomega5 line. They are necessary for the manufacture and restoration of membranes, enabling cells to receive valuable nutrients and expel waste. Most significantly, essential fatty acids are the building blocks of life – and just as they are important to take internally to aid in digestive, metabolic and cardiovascular health, they are equally vital for the largest human organ, the skin, which also demands nourishment at the cellular level. Pomega5 formulations make use of "aristocratic" (also known as "royal") Omega fatty acids 3, 5 and 9, which are found in sweet almond oil, argan oil, olive oil, and of course, pomegranate seed oil.
