Microcurrent was first used to treat patients experiencing a form of nerve-paralysis called Bell's Palsy. The low-level current retrained their atrophied facial muscles, suggesting a new anti-aging application for the aesthetic industry.
Microcurrent works on a low-level, alternating current, typically ranging from 0-400 microamperes. The output is significantly lower than other forms of electric therapy and gently reprograms muscles without contracting them. This massage-like stimulation encourages the muscles to revert back to their original state, instantly leaving skin feeling smoother, tighter and lifted. Like a fingerprint, every person has a distinct electrical signature and microcurrent works in harmony with that signature, balancing the body and dramatically increasing the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which supplies energy or "life" to the cells.
